2019 MEDICAL DOCTORS CODING MANUAL – TRAINING WORKSHOPS
The South African Medical Association (SAMA) has identified the need for procedural coding training for the private sector. The Medical Doctors’ Coding Manual (MDCM) Training Workshops will be held at the indicated venues.
It is vital to understand coding when rendering accounts to third party payers as well as during the assessment of claims, as incorrect coding has great financial impact to doctors in the private sector.
The workshops will start off with 'Coding 101' which provides basic training in the use and interpretations of the Rules, Modifiers and Consultations applicable to the coding structure. Time will also be allocated to informal discussions of general problems experienced by medical doctors’ coders.
Training will take place over 2 days at the indicated venue. Requests for training in other centres will be considered (If we get a request for other places, there need to be a minimum of 15 attendees). Included in the registration fee of R3500 per person (including VAT) is the 2019 MDCM Book, training manual, attendance certificate and a light lunch (please indicate dietary requirements)
The target audience for these workshops are: • Doctors’ staff • Practice managers • Bureaus • Medical Schemes
The following dates are available for people who wish to attend (subject to change)
